Clean green lawnmowing aims to provide lawn care and garden maintenance services following the 3 R’s principle. We continuously look at ways to reduce our carbon footprint in our daily work routine, out and about, on-site, and back in the office. Because Waiheke Island has no landfill site, we must be conscious of the carbon footprint produced by transporting products off the island.

We use recycled vegetable oil to lubricate chainsaws and have moved from printed paper job sheets and invoices to email and tablet computers and iPads to schedule our daily client list.
How do we do it?
Lawn clippings are either mulched back into the cut lawn or, if catcher mowed, they are composted into a rich garden fertilizer. Green waste from hedge clipping and light tree trimming becomes mulch, and larger tree branches become firewood. We encourage homeowners to stockpile organic material from garden clean-ups on site, in a discreet location. This helps avoid unnecessary transport, especially for Palm fronds, Flax, Toi toi, and other organics that can not be mulched.
